Getting a Mortgage With Bad Credit?

Are there legitimate places to get a mortgage with marginal credit? I have some charge offs on my credit report from 5 years ago. I had a major health problem and used a credit consolidation service to ist me with some CC debt. It was a bad idea I know now. But I'd like to buy a house. I have above average income, so I don't think I would qualify for a FHA loan. Does anyone know what the limit is on qualifying?
