You're feeding into his drama. So you both kind of are. Honestly though I wouldn't tell him anything personal any more if you are going to continue being friends. He uses personal information in a cruel way and does not seem like a friend that is very good for your self esteem. Friends should build you up not tear you down. I don't mean the should never challenge you but they should not be fostering your insecurities. I sounds like this guy has self esteem issues and needs to tear down all of the people around him so he can feel OK. I'd stop talking to him.
